Integrated TOEFL Essay Template 2022 (Writing Question One)

By using a TOEFL essay template you can save a lot of time and boost your score by properly organizing your response. All that you need to do is fill in the blanks with the necessary information that you will have noted from the test audio and text. 

Using a template will not negatively affect your score. The following template is up to date for 2022 and the new version of the test.

 

Integrated TOEFL Essay Template 2022 (Writing Question One)

The Introduction Paragraph

Regardless of what question you receive, your introduction can be written using the following guide. Just fill in the blanks with the relevant information: 

  • The text and the audio lecture are both on the subject of _____. 

  • The writer of the article is convinced that ______.  or: The writer of the article outlines three theories regarding _____.

  • The lecturer strongly disagrees with the author's stance.

  • His/her feeling on the matter is that _____.

The Supporting Paragraphs

Use the following structure for the supporting paragraphs:

  • According to the paper  _____.

  • It mentions that ____.

  • The lecturer boldly challenges this claim. 

  • He/She contends that ____.

  • In addition, he/she draws our attention to the fact that  ____.

  • Furthermore, the author proposes that ______.

  • In the text, it is claimed that _____.

  • The lecturer, on the other hand, posits that ______.

  • He/ She expands on this idea by stating ______.

  • Last of all, the author feels that _____.

  • The author provides evidence by outlining the fact that ____.

  • On the contrary, the lecturer’s position on the matter is that  _____.

  • He/she observes that _____.

NOTE - It is not necessary to include a conclusion paragraph. 

How long should my TOEFL integrated essay be? 

You should aim for approximately 280-300 words for the entire essay. Failure to write enough will dramatically impact your score. Although there is no upper limit, it is not advisable to make it much bigger than 300 words as you should prioritize quality over quantity.
